The waiting is the hardest part!

Last Thursday I ordered a Stingray 4 HH in a natural finish from my local music store and I'm gonna be waiting 3-4 months for delivery!

The Stingray has been my dream bass since I started playing 9 years ago and I finally got a chance to buy one at a decent price and after playing a HH model in the shop I was totally sold on the extra pup and the different sounds it can offer.

It's only been 4 days since I've ordered but I'm going mental waiting! I guess it makes it worse that I'm living abroad at the moment and all my basses are back home so I'm bassless!

Can't wait to try out this new baby.

Yeah waiting for new stuff can be torture. I'd to wait a few months when I ordered one of my guitars before, it was agony waiting for it. I'm sure you won't mind it a bit when you have it in your hands though!

3-4 months? Man, I would go nuts. My K5 took a couple of weeks to be shipped from Japan and that was bad enough. Are they building it from scratch for you or something?

Yeah I think it has to be built from the beginning, apparently they had none on hand.

The longest I've ever waited for gear was 1 month for my Corvette $$ NT. This is torture!

Well I suppose you'll appreciate it all the more once it arrives but I don't think I could wait that long. I'd be looking for something else ready for shipping.

It's my dream bass so I'll wait it out.

I've been buying stuff in preparation for it though. New strings and I'm currently shopping around for an MXR M-80. :D

    Aye.

It needed a bit of setting up, and I'm not crazy about the strings on it (even though they're brand new) but she's now playing nice!

I'm just delighted to have a bass in my hands again!

How's the quality for the price? Considering getting the same model myself just in 3TS.

Squier have actually improved from their bad rep in recent years... The new ones are supposed to be top notch for the price!

P.S I have no idea how you're waiting 3/4 MONTHS for your new bass

Pretty freaking good tbh. I wasn't expecting anything special but this bass is impressing me. Compared to my Geddy Jazz, it's nearly just as good. However I've read on Talkbass that there's a bit of variation in the factory, so play yours first before you commit to it.

I'm so tempted to keep a hold of this bass but I can't imagine bringing home two basses from Canada :pac:

Maybe I'll rebuy it when I'm back home, for the price it's a bit of a beast!

Have you tried flatwound strings on it?

Nope. Never tried flats in my life. But I am planning to throw a pair of Roto 77's on to see what all the fuss is about!

Ideally I'd like to try some TI flats but 70 bucks for strings is way too much for me.
