Are you proud of your British heritage?

The Gaelic Brehon laws were eventually supplanted by English law in the 17th century, and the Irish language was decimated by the 'famine', paving the way for the inevitable demise of Irish culture.

What we have left is a strong British heritage. eg, language, law, customs, media, sport, architecture, etc.

The reason I bring this up is because again and again, I have observed that foreigners see Ireland as no different to the rest of the UK.

This evening, a foreigner kept saying "The English Isles", and when I questioned him about that, he said "English people, people that are culturally English. Ireland is English".

I can't disagree with him. The Irish have long ditched their own culture in favour of English culture.

So, are you proud of your British heritage?

Trolling and baiting if ever I seen it. Don't start another thread like this.
