A tailor to make blazer from scratch

    hi all,

I have a big event coming up this summer, and I have decided it's the perfect excuse to splash out and get something I've wanted for years- a velvet blazer. Now, I'm not small, so I want to get it made from scratch, depending on price, obviously.

Now, does anyone have a recommendation of a tailor that would do this in the Dublin area, and roughly what cost would I be looking for? I'd be going for a 1 button in dark navy or possibly a bottle green, pretty basic (just well made, I'd like this to last me a while...)

ps- in case it's relevant I'm female but wear quite masculine cuts, it just suits my figure, and how I like to dress. :) But I would want it tailored to me, and would be guided by the tailor.

    Cheers!!

If you're in Dublin, Bogart's tailoring in Capel Street offer a made to measure service that's excellent. But if you're going the whole hog, would you consider Louis Copeland's? (also Capel Street-ways). An aunt of mine asked and they made her up a blazer no problem a few years ago and the quality was amazing! (It was for her wedding, she did a Bianca Jagger style suit if you need a comparison?)

Do you mind me asking how much (ball park!) your aunts blazer was? It's very very tempting, I have to say...
