    Hello,

    I am looking for a reliable independant mechanic in dublin, north if possible.
    This person would be able to actually fix things when it can be fixed, and not systematically change everything like the main mechanic dealers.
    I am not looking for a miracle, just someone clever and honnest .
    So if you know one, let me bring him some work :)

    Its kind of both , i have an oil leak, and my exhaust is noisy, but the rest looks fine to me.
    I was made a ridiculous quote for a pre NCT in a center of one main mechanic dealer.
    I know enough in mechanic and i think that they are trying to overcharge me.
    My father is mechanic for 40 years but hes in another country, he told me to run away.
    So if you know someone im listenning :)

    You shouldn't be charged for a pre NCT check IMO. A free vehicle inspection and quotation would be the norm.

    You'd be welcome to bring it up to us to have a look at it for you if you like...

    They didnt charge me for the pre NCT , but they told me that a lot of things are going wrong, maybe the head gasket (maybe lol) , the timing belt (ive done it last year), the brakes (which are braking fine), the complete exhaust line ect ... as i said im no expert but it seems quite a lot ! I really want another opinion so if you could send me your garage's location, Ill bring you the car . thanks
