Guys , my hair is short and fine.. I reeeeeeally want long hair. Got myself the Jessica Simpson curly hair peice and some human hair clip ins. But. Id like something more permanent. Im TERRIFIED of destroying my hair. Can any one recommend some extensions? Preferably cost effective...I work out a lot (my job) so i would say id have to get it re touched a bit more often than the regular clientell. Any suggestions or experiences with them? Methods costs names of those who do them? I have heard some horror stories so im nervous!!!

    Thanks.

I'd recommend cinderella hair for quality and price, but if you say you work out alot then you probably shower and wash your hair alot which wouldnt be great for the bonds - they need to be dried completely after every wash and preferably not washed more often than every second day. Otherwise I dont think the bonds would last long.
Maybe micro ring would suit you - but they don't look as natural because the bonds are not clear.

The only extentions that honestly don`t damage your hair are weaved ones. Hairdressers will tell you micro don`t but thats rubbish just do a search on boards or online for disaster stories.
I am on my third go of weave extentions and I haven`t been sorry one minute - wish I had discovered them earlier was messing with silly other stuff. They were 150 euro for the hair and getting them woven in and it only took an hour and lasts 8 weeks. If you have your own hair, which I did last time as I had taken care of it, it is 70 euro to get it women in. Literally best decision I have ever made!
One WARNING don`t go into the african hair shops to get them out they will razor them out go to your own or another hairdresser, you`ll have to go to someone to have them blended in to your hair anyway.
No problem telling you where I went if you want?

Awh I bought the real hair in the African shop to buy them is that ok? What exactly is a weave... Id like them to feel natural. What you think. My bf doesnt like the feel when he touches the clip ins.. Is it like that?... So how much in total to get them woven in, how long do they last ect.. Brilliant if you can give me advice... Your so good.. Can you PM me the details?

Thanks for the comment on the cinderella ones. Yeah i shower and wash my hair daily and im sure the lovely sweat doesnt help.. Hmmmm.... Micro beads might be good too... my friend is blonde n it dont look good on her. i can see them but her layers are very short... Im always fixin her hair ...

The hair is the weave. I have double strips of hair in three rows, so six in total, its a whole packet of hair. It is then sewn onto tracks (small french plaits across you head which form a "track" for them to sew the hair to). What did you buy? If you have clip-in extentions you can take the clips off and get them sewn in to your hair. Like this but much better :

I had these done - they lasted a day!!!! i had to take them all out, my head was killing me ...NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!

OP I have the micro ring extensions in about a month now and tbh if you work out every day i'd advise you not to get them. I didn't realise that it's better not to wash them too often and how difficult it is to blow dry your hair (nightmare!) Also they feel crap (like a brace fitted to your scalp) i miss been able to give my hair a good brush. In saying that the hair looks lovely and everyone comments on how nice it is..

Ill probably keep them in another month and hope my own hair is ok!! then ill just have to endure the growing process :(

I find this hard to believe. Not a clue what your talking about I`m on my third go of them, the only bit thats only slightly uncomfortable is the getting the plait done for the track but french plaits are always uncomfortable, but maybe I just have a very high pain threshold I don`t know. True aboout not being able to give your hair a good brush but I`ll get over it I have beautiful long hair that not one person has pegged as being fake!

I had hair extensions (glued on) before christmas. They cost €250 and lasted 4 months. They are REALLY high maintenance. Washing and blow drying seemed to take an age. I only got them removed a few weeks ago and my hair is noticeably thinner at the roots towards my neck, as quite a bit of my own hair came out. They certainly dont do your own hair any favours. That said, I'm definitely getting them in again, but I'm waiting for my hair to repair and grow again before I do.

Couldn't stand them i found them totally uncomfortable!! in saying that i can't stand these micro bonds either, but their not as bad as the weave (for me) My scalp feels itchy all the time (and no i don't have dandruff lol) I've to wash my hair again this morning cause my scalp is sweaty after a workout and the thoughts of drying it is hell!!! I have two packets of hair in as mine is quite thick, this could also factor into why they are more uncomfortable...

I know for sure when these come out that ill never get extensions in again. They are not for me!!

Tan11ie my hair is really thick, i`m mixed race and three rows of two is the most they can put in, by 2 packets do you mean 2 rows by any chance?

I should have said - they can be itchy for the first 2 weeks but I`ve worked out it depends on the products you use, products dry them out and make them prickely. I would advise using no harsh products and lots of conditioner. I had an "episode" within my first week of my first set where I used products and went to bed in rollers OMG I was literally tearing my head apart all night, wish I had a pic for what I woke up like it`d give everyone a good laugh! Saying that I don`t find them high maintanence at all (now that I`ve realised the above ).

On America's next top model they give the girls weaves and they are often itching it and complaining about it, I think i'll stick to clip in ones for now
