Speedometer occasionally not working

    Hello car enthusiasts!!!

Starting to do a bit of DIY nowadays what with lack of funds.

Have just got a great deal on a second hand Skoda but the speedometer, rev counter and fuel gauge sometimes stop working randomly and simultaneously.

It seems to me like there must be a loose wire or something somewhere.

Has anyone got any idea if this is an easy thing to fix? Or how much it would cost to have fixed in a garage?

    Thanks in advance.

Also, have an old VW but it can't be started without being hot wired as the ignition is gone. Is it a big job to change it and is it expensive to pay to have it done.

    Thanks again.
