I took in this old boy from Laois Pound today and he has a massive *mass* of fleshy *pearls* on the front of his mouth and it has spread up the left hand side of his mouth. I have never ever seen anything like it.

I've got an appointment at the vet clinic in Galway with him tomorrow and I am hoping against hope that we can help him. Does anyone have any experience with dental tumours??

My old dog Bramble had a tumour in her mouth that looked very like that. It kept growing until it was interfering with her eating and we had to have her pts. Poor girl, she had been limping on one of her back legs, vet x rayed, couldn't really see anything, so we did hydrotherapy etc with her, she went back for another x ray a few months later, and she had a tumour. Leg was removed, but then it started in her mouth. The smell off it was horrible, does this boy's mouth smell?

There was nothing we could do for Bramble unfortunately, except keep her going until she was uncomfortable.

Best of luck, no matter what happens to him, at least he'll be with people who care about him.

No, surprisingly enough, his mouth doesn't smell and he does not appear to be in discomfort.
