Hi, was wondering if anyone knows of a company that I can hire a large capacity coach from, like a 70 seater or something? Organising a group night out for a birthday and would prefer if I could get everyone on the one bus rather than having to hire two. Looked into hiring a double decker (which would be awesome) but can't seem to find any that aren't open top/only suitable for inner city travel

Most coaches are 48-54 seaters. The only bigger buses are city buses - talk to Bus Éireann.

Would you consider doing two runs?

Are Bus Éireann buses available for hiring? 2 runs wouldn't be an option unfortunately...

Bus Eireann have double decker coaches, no idea if they can be hired though.

There definitely is one or two bus companys in cork that have closed roof double deckers that are not just for city travel. Went on a mystery tour on one with college down as far as monkstown and there was also one parked up in the carpark of wilton the other day. Can't for the life of me remember the name of the company though. I do know freakscene(i.e gorbys/bróg) in town used the same company as my tour did for a mystery tour they did and also had the double decker bus. Maybe if you throw them a call they might be able to point you int he right direction. If i remember the name in the meantime ill throw you a pm.

Doesn't Bus Éireann supply the city council with a double decker for the Black Ash park and ride? It would need to be clean for the next morning though. :D

Kearneys of Cork have a handfull of ex Dublin Bus deckers.

Callanins are based in Galway but do have buses around cork.

AFAIK Bus Eireann can work out more on the expensive side when hiring so shop around. Kearneys deffo have deckers for hire though.
