Pokemon Emerald or Leaf Green

Want to buy a retro Pokemon title for my GB Micro that I recently got out of storage. Don't want to break the bank, so have researched into the titles, and it comes down to 2 - Pokemon Emerald or Pokemon Leaf Green

Now, I played the original Red, Blue and then Yellow when Pokemon first launched (I was really into them at the time) and later played Diamond on the DS and I know Leaf Green is a remake with better graphics and a few twists but I'm wondering which people might recommend out of the two?

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

You may be better off asking on Arts \ TV \ Pokemon as that's were all of us freaks hang out :)

Personally I'd go with Emerald but as they're both from effectively the same generation a lot comes down to which of the plot lines you prefer and which Legendaries you prefer. There's very little between the two that would make one better than the other, per se.

Just be careful if you're buying them - there are a LOT of fakes out there. They have a tendancy towards short battery life, corrupted saves and of course if you intend to Pal Park into D/P/Pt/HG/SS (the 4th Generation DS games) your save will get wiped. Always look for a picture of the "gold teeth" - real games have Nintendo branded circuit boards. Also look out for stickers on the back of the cart covering the molded plastic with "(C) Nintendo" on them, non-TriGram screws holding the cart together, carts who's colour is grey instead of red/blue/green etc etc. Fire REd and Leaf Green usually ship with the GBA Wireless adapter, which is handy if you want to trade and have 2 of 'em. Basically, if it's on EBay, shipping from Hong Kong and less than 20 quid it's probably fake :)

Emerald, if you've not played Gen III before. LeafGreen may be best left 'til you're sure you're into the Gen III style.

emerald is sequel to ruby and sapphiree,

leafgreen and firered basically remake of pokemon green and red 1996 for Japan, but in europe we had pokemon red and blue 1996 upgrade to suit GBA

to complete leafgreen to catch all 151 pokemon going need fire red to catch some pokemon that dont exist in leafgreen and pokemon DX gale of darkness for gamecube to catch pokemon mew.

to complete emerald to catch all 386 pokemon going need ruby and sapphiree to to catch some pokemon that dont exist in emerald and pokemon colosseum for gamecube to catch pokemon celebi.

anyway emerald, ruby, sapphiree, leafgreen and firered are compatible with diamond and pearl along you have old ds or ds lite because GBA games wont work on dsi or dsi xl or 3DS

see how catch every pokemon so far check out the pokedex from this link www.serebii.net/index2 its has every pokemon on it how catch them
