The Archos has a mini-hdmi port so you can plug whatever input. A USB tv dongle may require some hacking tho, guys on xda are using custom linux to get it running: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=871391

If you install the latest firmware and flash 10.2 you can watch rte player and all normal streaming websites tho.

I must give it a go but surely its not as simple as plugging the mini hdmi in and selectign the input and it coming up on the screen. Theres an option to select to switch to the tv out, but no mention of in.Would it not need software of some descrition to take and display a signal coming in?

The only issue there is internet access. The Android issue of not being able to connect to an ad-hoc network stops me as far as wifi goes.
I assume the Desire HD can be tethered to the 101 through USC or Bluetooth.

I was hoping to be able to watch live tv from time to time and streaming would'nt be ideal if I'm using it alot.
