    Hi all,

I just got a giant rapid 3 on the cycle to work scheme and am looking for places to go around Dublin 15 area.

I haven't being on a bike in around 10/15 years so not ready for major miles.

    Also any tip's?

    Cheers
    Rob

    Welcome to boards...

D15 is a pretty big place but Phoenix Park is the obvious choice if you're within a few km of it. A loop of the western side of the park as is about 8km - Ordanance Rd, Upper Glen Road, Lower Glen Road, Acres Road, Military Rd, Kyber Road and back up Chesterfield Ave. It's a mixture of quiet roads and cycle tracks, a few short hills too to keep you interested. If you're going out at the weekend, go early before the cycle paths fill up with pedestrians, joggers and rollerbladers.

If you get bored there, the roads between Leixlip, Kilcock, Dunboyne and Clonee are pretty quiet and reasonably flat. Nice countryside for leisurely cycle.
