Cleaning glasses

Ok, quick question. Whats the best way to clean glasses?

I don't mean just smudges on the lense or what have you, I mean the whole frames and all.

Mine are a little bit icky from hair gel and general use, and I'd like to 'scrub' them but without damaging them.

Would sticking them in the dishwasher be safe/ok/recommended?

Do not put them in the dishwasher. You can clean frame and lenses safely in warm soapy water using a mild detergent like fairy liquid. Do not scrub them with anything abrasive or you will scratch the lenses. Use the cloth supplied with the glasses. If you lost yours pop into your Opticians and ask for a new cloth
