    Is Laois County Council involved?

Then God alone knows, with that shower of tossers involved it could be anything from a new headquarters, complete with blast shutters, to yet another civic plaza area, with stainless steel architect designed and tax payer paid for statues.

What it won't be is something that will make life easier for residents of Co Laois.

Incidentally, why was that slip never opened?

Afaik there was a farmers entrance at the end of it and it was proving dangerous for him to enter/exit it. IIRC the slip was open for some time.

So it was easier/cheaper for them just to close it rather than solve the problem

Irrelevant, irrelevant, irrelevant. This forum is about roads. Please take your Laois County Council soapboxing elsewhere. Maybe someone will listen to you at your local pub.

As the sliproad was also inescapable it would also have to be designated motorway. Not sure if that would have anything to do with it but it would have been good to say that we, as a country had a farmers entrance onto a motorway.

Had a look at it yesterday evening; it appears to be being completely removed and replaced with topsoil.
I suspect it'll be grassed over by the end of summer.
