I think this could be a very dry summer

Its been very dry over the winter (lying snow doesn't really count) and now the spring is also well below the typical so far and I've just spotted the spouts of growth of a summer perenial flower (sorry forgotton the name) starting to poke through - about two months early! In recent years they have hardly got going due to cold wet conditions indeed 2009 only one really bloomed before dying. And yet these are only just starting to appear.

Anyone else spotted tell tale signs of moisture deficit and more sun than usual in the garden?
