Under the old consultant contract there were 'category 1' consultants which were only allowed to work in the public domain and there were category 2 consultants who worked public/private.

under the new contract there is basically..

    Type A- public only
    Type B- Public private
Type B*- '' but more private liberties
    Type C- not imortant

My question is, what is a Type A category 2 consultant? If type a is public only, how can he be a category 2 aswell? I've read the contract to no avail..

    Surely someone must know?

AFAIK (and I might well be wrong) there is no such thing. The types (A/B/C) were introduced in a new contract. A consultant could switch to the new contract, or stay on the old contract and therefore stay in one of the old categories (1/2).
