My parents are at the Galway Rd in Tuam and they are getting DTT, perfect signal on a 10 Element Contract Aerial, mounted on the Chimney. Signal Strength in the 93% - 97% region.

One point to note however, we had this aerial for TV3 and TG4, the reception was brutal at first, so we put in a Booster and we got a very very good signal, not perfect.

So I couldn't tell you if the Aerial on it's own is fine for DTT, I don't know how much the booster is contributing towards the DTT signal.

A contract group C/D should be fine but make sure it has as balun.

Maghera ch. 48 is blasting in in that area, you should not need any sort of mashead amplifier. Castlebar on ch 22 is also very strong but will require a group A aerial pointing north, north west. Neither of these are on full power yet either.

Maghera may go on full power next month but I would check with rtenl.ie

I've been getting reception from Castlebar since March last year, think I'm blocked from Maghera. Almost fell off the sofa in shock when I tried the teletext a couple of weeks back and actually had a full service...I was wondering whether the tv was MHEG5 or not...thankfully it appears to be!
