Hard-drive- the one you've linked to has a larger, but slightly slower hard-drive (640Gb versus 500Gb). The smaller hard-drive is from a different manufacturer, and is faster- most people will probably be go with the larger hard-drive without investigating further.

That is a great deal to be fair. Very quick laptop clearly and a fairly nice looking one too!

Went for the plunge. Looked like a great deal, especially with the i5 for that price.

If there was a 'jealous' smiley- thats what I'd be using now.....
It does look like a lovely machine- I'm sure you'll love it.

Did the same to me on the Toshiba AC100 I ordered a week previous. In my order history the status is 'Payment Received'....... I thought companies didn't normally deduct the cash from your credit card until they actually shipped the product? Its actually deducted, not just authorised, from mine.

Why? You'll get what you ordered, in the quoted time. What's the problem?

Doubt it very much , unless its being delivered by the shuttle .

I'm waiting 3 weeks for the previous laptop (thus far) (its a Toshiba AC100).
I've e-mailed and filled out the online query form- and not gotten so much as an automated response. In addition- they removed the cash from my credit card immediately (3+ weeks ago).

So- your order can be at 'Payment Received' status and simply sit there- forever....... (or so it seems). They take the money immediately- without giving you any indication of when you might receive the product. They don't even acknowledge any queries you give them. And they don't have a published phone number (that I can find).

Had a look at the original spec and it states that delivery is between 7 and ten working days so I would expect it between the 27th April and the 1st May.

As I mentioned earlier in the thread, there have been times when I have waited two months for ibood to deliver items. I wanted the laptop but there was no way I would be prepared to wait 2 months like I did with an air purifier and an xbox 360, that I orderd off them.

Peats are selling this same laptop for e529.00. Thats just e16 cheaper than getting it delivered. You can have it today plus yopu don't have to go through all the hassle of posting it back if something goes wrong with it. :)

That's the last gen i3 too I believe. The new i3's (Sandy Bridge) are apparently as fast as the last generation i5.

Sorry only read the specs, I would have thought Samsung would changed the model no: NP-RV511

This could be confusing for those that didn't look at the specs thinking they were buying the same machine.

Spoke to them on the phone yesterday .Got nowhere .We wont see our laptops for a while yet me thinks .

Given the mixed feedback on ibood and in particular their quality customer service might be worth asking a mod to put up a caution on dealing with this company

25 days after placing order still waiting , not shipped yet . Could ya make it up .

    Finally some information:
We have decided not to keep you waiting any longer. We would like to offer you these options: Option 1: You can decide to exchange the Samsung NP-RV511 with the HP Pavilion dv6-3180sd, which was the iBOOD of the 12th of May 2011. This laptop is comparable to the Samsung laptop you have ordered on the 28th of April. You can find the laptop and it’s specifications in the link below: http://ie-en.forum.ibood.com/5575-hp_pavilion_156inch_laptop_with_intel_core_i5processor_and_aluminum_body__2_year_pick-up__return/ Option 2: We will cancel your order to be reimbursed for the full amount of purchase including the shipping costs.

I had a look at both laptops and it seems that the HP has a lower spec i5 processor and less memory. I think I will be asking for money back rather than the other laptop.

I got that email as well , I rang and I have taken a refund very bad all round .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7 Omar82

Is anyone else still waiting on this to be settled?
I still haven't received a refund. I've filled out the contact form several times on the website but nothing.
I've ordered a few things off this site and normally they're fairly good but this is a complete joke and I won't be using them again.
They've also closed the forum on the website for this product.
    Very unimpressed :(

My card was refunded in the following months statement. But that meant that the money had been taken from my bank to pay the previous months credit card bill and I had to find the money to buy another laptop this time from a reputable company.

Initiate a chargeback with your credit card company.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 376 ✭✭silvo

My card was refunded about two weeks ago from this purchase. Might be an idea to contact your bank.

Im thinking of getting the SAMSUNG RV511-A07UK from elara.ie
€30 cheaper than Peats. It seems reasonable good buy?
