Books on the Industry

Anyone know of any decent books on the horse racing industry? Anything from a story on how the stables are managed, to point to points, right up to the top level races.

My parents were involved in horses for years up until I was about 12. The old man helped run Point to Points, I used to ride, and I know (sort of) a few very horsey people. So I'd be interested in reading about the goings on of the industry.

    Any recommendations?

Edit: I don't mean actual business textbooks for guys looking to get into the industry, but kind of insider's guides, or books written by someone who has been involved with it for a long time.

most of the racing books I've read are gambling related but one that may be of vague interest is Ginger McCain's autobiography, My colourful life which is a great read.I'm sure you know who he is but just in case...Red Rums trainer. Its a bit of a rough and tumble tale so not sure its what your after. You sound like you are looking to read Vincent O'Brien biography or maybe Barry Hills.I haven't read either ,you'll find some other interesting ones on here.........

yeah the Paul Nolan doc. really is the best source for something like that. Just finished the paul nicholls bio. A really good read and gives a good insight into the world of a trainer

I'd have to agree with the man who mentioned racing auto/biograhies. Mouse Morris's biography springs to mind, for an Irish context. I read Champion Charlie, the biography of Charlie Swan when I was a kid and it made a big impression on me.
