once again I'm in the market for some retail therapy ..this time a mandolin. I play guitar pretty good and when/if i get teh mandolin i'll go to work on scales right away. I sorta want to buy an 8 string mandobird ..just becuase its quiet, I can use it with a pod and earphones. So i can get learn how to play without…

but I'm not sure.

I don't think i want it electrified as i can just add a pickup if i really need to. Perhaps i should it would be better to if all the money was spent on a good quality acoustic instrument as I like to think I'm serious about it and I don't want to outgrow this instrument.

Can anyone advise me or offer opinions ... think I could spend 500€
