Volume control on laptop

Hi guys, The volume on my laptop on the other day seems to have changed settings-I'm not sure why. There is now an earphones icon when I click on the volume button, I'm not getting sound (without using headphones) from my laptop. How do I change it back to normal? Thanks

Double click on the loudspeak icon and check nothing is muted or go into control panel>sound and audio devices and check the settings there.

Or just do a system restore, after that if no joy I would check cables
