The world champion is out, beaten 10-8 by Judd Trump, well done to Judd Trump, got a bit twitchy near the end but he made a great break in the last frame and yet again a new defending world champion has not retained his title. First day and the snooker has been fantastic.

He done well. He will need to settle down a little more though. He played a few reckless shots. Hope he does well.

great win for judd, following on from his china open win who knows what he could do now. once again the curse of the crucible first time winner lives on. ( no first time winner has ever defended the trophy)
