Blonde Rabbits

I was out walking with the shotgun this evening just on the look out for vermin and magpie nests. I hopped over a ditch into a field sowed with barley and there were three poulters in the field. One was the ordinary grey brown but the other two were blonde. Just wondering if any of you have encountered blonde rabbits before. I shot one not far from here about 4 years ago and the only other odd colour rabbit I saw since was a black rabbit I got with ferrets. I got a picture on my phone but the quality is no good and it is hard to make out.

I believe out in the Mooncoin area of Kilkenny, someone a few years back released a load of domestic \ pet rabbits. Some of then survived and interbred with the wild ones and supposedly theres some fair mad looking coloured rabbits in certain areas around there.
Dunno if it s true or not but I've heard it a few times
