Seen a fully white sika this morning in wicklow.
Is this rare or are there some around? never seen one before.
Photos are bad quality as only had the phone with me.
You have to look closely but he is there. Some of the shots you can just make out his back or head in the crowd.

There are case of albino sika all right, never seen one though ! Nice herd of animals in the pics :)

Trouble is a white one is an easy target and lots of people would want a white sika head on there wall :(

I Agree, It probably won't last too long alright, pity as it looks great. But really does stand out making it an easy target like ya said.
Will try get some proper photos over the coming weeks If it shows its head again!

I have never seen an albino deer in the wild,I have shot white deer yes.

But not truly white as when you get up close they have fawn colour and dappled coat, yet you see them at a distance you would swear they were white

I was within about 25 to 30m of it, let me assure you it was completely white.

    It is very rare.
They are evolving for better winter cammo, due to the recent winters with lots of snow!!

No bother, was'nt planning to run up and shoot it.:). I do a bit of stalking down around hacketstown, and seen one about 3 years ago. Just wondering if it was out of the same stock.
