iphone 3gs ~ charging is not supported with this accessory?

    Hey guys, i have an iphone 3gs and over the last few days when i try to charge via USB or the plug i get the message:

    "charging is not supported with this accessory"

    The phone is not jailbroken and has the latest firmware and im using the original apple charger.

    Any idea whats wrong here and how i can sort it?

    I'd say it's just the USB cable. Try a different one - if it persists then I think your USB port on your iPhone may be on it's way out.

    I had a similar problem, it turned out to be the dock connector which I replaced and it stopped, it's probably ok, but sometimes it can knock off the sound on the device.

    I had similar issues due to pocket fluff stuck in the phone connector.
