This is apparently the codename for the new Nintendo console.
Just been reading about this on IGN.
They're saying it'll be reverting back to a traditional controller with dual analogue sticks and triggers.
Also they're saying the controller will have a 6" touch screen that you'll be able to stream entire games on to and use as a TV..:eek:
Liking where this is going now!

    Too much for a controller.
Money, and stuff in your hand.

I would be amazed if they didn't keep some of the motion control side of things in it. Thats what made the wii such a massive hit, the accessibility of it all. Plus that would mean no backwards compatibility which would be unusual for Nintendo.

Motion control in it is said to be much better.
    No idea how.

Iwata said Kinect was presented to them before the wiimote, and he refused due to the cost to consumers.
Why would they then turn around 5 years later and make a controller that'll likely cost 50+ euro?

Don't like it. Seems like a step backwards.

Eh, thats a mock up pic, not details of a controller have been released yet. Just *rumors* that it will be a wiimote but also a new type of controller.

See http://wiihdrumors.com/ for your daily fix of new rumors people.

I know it's a mock up but if all the big sites like IGN are saying it's hearing from sources it'll have a screen you can bank on it.

Nothing's been released yet, or confirmed.

I read some of that site you linked.
They bring up a really good point about the capabilities:
"Ubisoft is a French publisher who is believed to have had a Wii HD for development purposes. Now, it was a French website that said the system was only a bit more powerful than the Xbox 360, so maybe the source had only seen a game from Ubisoft? They’re known for lousy launch titles, which might explain the discrepancy."

Yeah thats very true, Ubisoft are pants with launch titles, Rayman 3 on the 3ds... nuff said lol. But looking forward to waht Ninty come up with for the new system to get them through the next 5 years....

Yeah that website is brilliant, your man David keeps up to date on all rumors and reports straight away and has it all layed out very well.

I followed him since July last year with his 3ds blog/forum too. 3dsforums.com, not too great now as there is a lot of 12 year olds hoggin up the forum ah, but still his blog part is still up on par! (on par spelt right? lol)

The new console has been officially confirmed, but the controller and console have not. it will be at E3 2011 and will be out for 2012

I like it but I imagine it being too much money, at least more money for a console then Nintendo would charge

Personally, if that was the controller, and the motion stuff was kept optional and to a minimum I would have no problem buying it

Currently I'm a proud 3DS owner so Nintendo haven't steered me wrong yet

    'fraid it's a fake though.

    Indeed.
You can see it's a college lecture hall.

The fakers released it yesterday because of the 3DS conference.
That was only about 3DS, and look on n-space's facebooke account to see what a nintendo conference really looks like.

i won't purchase a new nintendo system until they honour their life-long fans. the gamecube had great potential but they snuffed 3rd party developers and i won't even mention that wii. No new starfox, pikmin, role playing games, f-zero and the zelda games never grew up with its loving fans. R.I.P. Ninty... you lost most of us.

They did, but a lot of what they didn't do for the Wii is already being honoured for the 3DS - I think Nintendo were surprised themselves at the success of their portable systems (the DS was slaughtered when it was launched originally) and sort of concentrated too much effort on portable as opposed to console, so Wii suffered

Would it have been that difficult to invest in a GTA game for the Wii? If Nintendo want serious gamers they need to start competing and, as you mentioned, they need 3rd party support

Nintendo has always been extremely successful with portable systems. But I do feel like they really relied on the DS heavily this generation. I do like a lot of Wii games, but it's been a long time since I switched mine on. The only thing I really use it for now is Guitar Hero.

There's no point. If you have a big muti platform title then people aren't going to bother playing it on a system that's extremely under powered compared to the rest. The only way for the Wii to work is to have a heavy focus on first party Nintendo & unique games that really make the best of the system.

There are too many great Nintendo franchies they still haven't touched :(
