    Hi all,

    Does anyone know if it's possible to access MIMS online anywhere? I could only access a Hong Kong version, and, eh, I need the Irish one. Or is there any sort of Irish drugs database online which includes their prices? I'm finishing off a Pharmacology project and I'm looking for the cost prices of a few of the PPIs... and I don't have a copy myself.

    Failing that, does anyone just know the monthly cost of a few of them?
    Omeprazole, Esomeprazole and Pantoprazole in particular.

    Not sure if you would access it to it (or if there is an online version!) but the Irish Medicines Formulary should also list prices as far as I remember.

    Also, I don't know if it's any use to you, but you can get some information on prescribing of medicines and costs on the community drug schemes on the PCRS website here.

    Failing that, I can check costs for you on Monday when I'm back in work!

    FWIW, from this months MIMS:

    Omeprazole (Losec mups)(28 tabs): 10 mg (6.99 euro); 20 mg (13.16 euro);
    For fourteen tabs: 40 mg (13.14 euro).

    Losamel (from Clonmel) however is 17.28 euro for thirty 20 mg tabs.
    EDIT: Just looking at Losepine from Pinewood: twenty eight 20 mg tabs are 27.38 euro (big difference from above).

    Esomaprazole (Nexium)(28 tabs): 20 mg (18.30 euro); 40 mg (28.24 euro).

    Pantopraxole (protium)(28 tabs): 20 mg (8.66 euro).

    Obviously varies a bit with the different brand names for a given drug.
