Does anyone know where I can get a usb memory stick, with a chemistry/Biology/microbiolgy/general science theme, possibly with engraving?? Or just a generally cool looking one? Checked out a few websites but none too suitable!!

    Thanks...!

    P.S. Present for a science lover!! :)

Hey, I'd advise against an engraved one as it'll probably be quite slow to copy to/read off. They'll also be pretty pricy £30 for a 128mb robot one I found... So instead I'd recommend something like this: http://www.mymemory.co.uk/USB-Flash-Drives/Corsair/Corsair-Survivor-8GB-USB-2.0-Flash-Drive

    Or this: http://www.mymemory.co.uk/USB-Flash-Drives/Pretec/Pretec-8GB-i-Disc-Bullet-USB-Flash-Drive-%2B-Ultimate-Secure-Guard

I'd say that depends on the skill of the engraver :) There could indeed be problems with re-writing on an already engraved one. Reading should be fine though...

It's hard to read sarcasm in text. So I'm not sure If you're serious or not (?), I was referring to the read/write speeds of the memory stick. :pac:

Sorry, I just wanted to be funny. Actually I am still trying to improve my English and making good jokes in a "foreign" language proves to be a bit of a challenge.
But of course you are right, you shouldn't buy a usb-stick just because it looks cool. Maybe the OP could find one with interchangeable cards, so the engraved cover could be reused with a new memory card fitted as technology progresses. Something like that with a good card perhaps, and then a custom design added: http://www.dealextreme.com/p/micro-usb-2-0-sdhc-tf-card-reader-15386

Ooh, making jokes through a language barrier must be tough. You are brave to try! :)

The coolness of novelty usb keys evaporates when you try to plug them in alongside another usb cable or device -- they never fit. I thought of a nice diy one though - get usb drive and remove plastic cover then hot melt glue it into the end of a small test tube. :-p

Haha, That's alright! I just wanted to make sure it was clear for the OP. It is one of the better jokes I've seen on boards :pac:
