    Hi,
Just to let you know I'm 15 years of age and have a quite good knowledge of current affairs and business. You're probably going to now to tell me that I haven't a clue but anyways... A month or two back AIB was taken over by the gov. and taken off the stock market. Now, why is it back on the stock market again??... I'm totally confused but I guessing that the explanation is very simple.

    Thanks,
    James.

Moved from Economics, please read the charter before posting. /mod

Read here, sometimes events or perception can panic markets into erratic movements. The idea of removing AIB from trading is similar to circuit breakers which operate in the New York stock exchange during dramatic falls in the stock market. The goal is to have a time-out period to reassess the situation on reflection after a period of time thereby minimizing panicked responses.

They were never taken off the Irish stock market, but they were moved from the primary market to the secondary market. They were delisted from London.
