PaintDoctor is this going to be a big job to sort out?

Whoever owned the car before me obviously got some idiot to 'fix' this & he's ended up making a balls of it. He's used the wrong shade of paint & then sprayed on a lacquer just to make it even worse. I got out the t-cut to see what i could do & as you can see for yourself its made no difference. The car is tip top except for this stupid paint mismatch.

    HELP PLEASE!!!

Any advise appreciated. How much to get sorted???

It's a big enough job to be fair. The badly repaired areas will need to be sanded back, and filled smooth (Which on a large flat surface like a door is a very time consuming thing to do to make sure there's no residual ripples in the final paint job). Then the dent under the driver's door handle at the end of the door needs to be straightened. After that, it's basically paint both doors.

Bodyshop - somewhere around 800-1k I'd think. Most SMART repairers IMHO would be 300 ish, but you'd have to do a job like that on a sunny day, or indoors.

    800-1000?!?!? Holy crap!

Sounds a lot I know, but you're talking about 2 doors (350 a panel minimum), and it might need to be blended into the quarter/wing too. I suppose more accurately - my bad - could be anything from 700 - 1000.

Someone went into halfords, asked the advice of the highly trained individual behind the counter, came out with can of paint, can of laquer, pot of filler and various samdpapers and as expected made a balls of it.

Pretty much Mick! I've seen a lot more of this going on lately, and the worst was I heard a unexperienced staff member in a *coughcough* unknown car accessory shop giving made up on the spot advice pretty much like what you described above to a customer who had no experience.
