I have a PS2 joypad converter which plugs into the USB port of the PS3. I haven't used it in about a year and when I tried it the other day the PS3 wouldn't recognise it despite it appearing to be functional. Has there been a firmware update preventing the use of certain usb peripherals? My portable harddrive works fine.

An update(can't remember which one) did disable unlicensed usb devices.

    Cheers for confirming my suspicions.

I'll have to shell out for a new pad so even though I've about 6 PS2 controllers!
