i sent a email to Humax customer support/sales

"Does HUMAX have any plans for launching a PVR for the Irish market/Saorview ?"

and got the Following reply within 1 hour !!:)

"Unfortunately we are not aware of any current plans for this. If this is to become available in the future it will advertised through our website "

I currently have a humax freesat pvr ( FOXSATHDR500 ) which i got thru there web site - brilliant piece of kit i just wish somebody could sort out a PVR so I can get rid of $ky as soon as possible ( I have been with $ky for 14+ years at €40 pcm = €6700+)

I asked them if they could make it record from the USB or the Scart.

They gave the same response.... Nothing announced.

yes thats ok for one touch recording or setting a planner like the old days of video.
But theres no series link on saorview yet so at present, you have to manually set recording for every thing on the saorview channels.

series link works perfectly on the uk freeview channels except ch 5 where theres a glitch unfixed for the last 3 years where repeats are recorded in the series link

Was over in the UK at the Gadget show in Birmingham and live in SE Ireland and receive DTT from Mount leinster. Bought a box 3View a PVR and brilliant piece of Kit for 249 with a proviso that if it did not receive RTE i can return it. Now have tried this morning and cannot get it to receive any channels . There are Two HD DVB T2 Mpeg 4 tuners inside this machine. According to the Saorview site http://www.mpeg4ireland.com/saorview I should be ok but would love it to work. Have a wide band aeiral and signal from Mount Lienster is perfect. Any suggestions or help would be very much appreciated.

Has anyone bought the Triax ST-HD 537 and used it with a HDD to record Saorview Can you pre programme to record programmes rather than time setting. I have been looking for a stand alone DTT box with a PVR in it to record Irish TV. I would also consider a combi unit with Sat and terrestrial receiver and a PVR built in. I have a Humax HD Foxsat box and would love to get a similar unit for Irish TV with its easy EPG for single and series recording
