Best way to manage music on iPod Touch?

What is the best PC application for managing a large MP3 collection and tranferring (with artwork) to an ipod touch?

The collection is too big for itunes (and I don't really like the interface).

I used to use Media Monkey, but that became problematic over the last few months ... copying album artwork is patchy - it copies some but not all, and since OS4.3, you need to hook it up with iTunes to enable access to the music (if you try to play music, you get a message saying that it must be synced with itunes first).

I've tried Copytrans manager, which seems pretty good (the artwork reliably copies), but I have a feeling it corrupted my device database this morning (when I load iTunes it tells me that the music is inaccessible and that I have to restore factory defaults)

So... tearing my flippin' hair out. I have a big painful job of wiping my device and reloading my music and apps this weekend (I took a recent backup, so hopefully that might fix things).

Bottom line - what application is best for managing large collections on the PC?

Just to draw a line under this, I decided to copy my favourite albums out of my collection into a folder on my PC, and import them from there into itunes.

It was pretty time consuming but it's done now. Better the devil you know than the devil that screws up your ipod. :)
