Formula 1 2011 COMPETITION: Round 3-China

Rules as usual:

• Entries must be submitted before the start of qualifying. No Exceptions.
• Results at the end of the race stand.
• In a team vs team battle the winner will be determined by points scored. If neither score any points the team with the highest placed car is the winner.

Thanks to Sparks43 here's the spreadsheet that will be used to calculate the results. Once everybody has been added, please check that you're down for the right options.

I choose Hamilton for the win mainly because....Vettel's run of wins needs to end somewhere! I think that the McLaren race performance in Malaysia was very impressive and I'd be very surprised if Lewis has another problem with needing to do an extra stint on the slower tyres and he could be in a great position to take his first win since Spa last year. Vettel will rightly start as favourite but if McLaren are anywhere close on race pace Hamilton could make the difference but until Red Bull prove their KERS reliability, Webber had another issue with his system this morning, there is a question mark over their performance on a circuit like this with so many low gear corners that are so suitable for KERS could be quite challenging for them.

I have been very impressed by HRT, the team not the owners!, and they have shown that the team personnel are very much deserving of their place on the grid. It is clear that their ownership is an absolute joke but it is very interesting that they are in a position to outperform the Virgins this weekend. I think that Liuzzi is very well placed to outqualify Jerome D'Ambrossio in China

Mercedes against Renault was a very close call but Heidfeld's limited Friday running could be quite costly as the weekend progresses. China is far from Monaco, where a lack of track time is much more heavily penalised, but I think that Mercedes could be very well placed this weekend. This faith is based on the fact that their KERS and DRS is so effective and it could put them in a strong position.

Paul Di Resta has had a very strong start to the season and I would be surprised if he does not outperform his teammate again. Sutil is a decent driver but Di Resta has been much more impressive thus far in 2011. I'm a big fan of the Scot and think that another points scoring position will be sufficient to defeat his teammate again.

18 finishes or more was a tricky decision to make but with the season progressing you have to believe that the teams reliabilities are starting to improve so six retirements or less should be quite attainable.
