    hi
i have a vw polo 1 litre, year 2001,enging code auc thats having random misfires. i changed the coil, plugs, air pressure sensor.coolant sensor.coolant ,the leads, the air filter.i cleaned the throttle housing and since i cleaned the throttle the car is flying ,using less fuel despite misfiring and plenty of power.i cleaned the injectors as well.it's a totally different car despite the problem im having . the only code showing is "rendom misfire".i got a vag com 409-1 recently and im not sure how to work it so the first question is
1-how can i get it to save the info
2-when it's working will it automatically fix any problem
3- im begining to think that the engine timing has slipped and will vag re tune the engine automatically
4-does vag show up all electrical faults
5- my friend thinks that the ecu power relay switch is faulty. im really stuck on this one and i need all the help i can get
    thanks
    peter

Head off, skimmed, check valves/seats, new gasket. Not sure if it's a very common problem but I've seen it on a couple of these cars.

Not trying to sound condescending but why do people think diagnostic gear is a magic fix for everything. All they do is give you a code, it's about interpretation. It sounds like you may be out of your depth. Bring it to a trusted mechanic. ;)

your going to the wrong people. you need to get your car checked by someone who knows how to do this kind of work as couldntthink has already stated. it wouldnt suprise me if a part that has already been replaced is a fault i.e crap spurious parts. or you could just keep going the way your going and just try fit a new engine to it. cross your fingers:D

Have the head removed and checked, or keep throwing needless parts at it.:D
