Oven not working

I turned on the wall switch and turned the oven on to heat, after a minute there was a bang and it turned off. The trip switch went and when I turned the trip switch back on the oven still was not working.

Any ideas as to what the problem might be? The hob section is working fine but not the oven. It is no longer under warranty

Probable blown element in Oven. Depending on type there can be more than one element in the oven.

Be careful do not attempt to switch on oven, there may be a short in the element which makes it very dangerous.

What make and model of cooker is it ?
