Looking to start Irish Electronic Rock community

    I'm a graphic designer/electronic musician from Dublin
My band is this one here

ever since I was a teen I've always had a fondness for bands that combined rock, metal, punk, indie etc etc with electro, house, techno, trance etc etc. I've encountered a fair few people who have the same interest both online and in real life

Yet I find very few bands in/from Ireland who do this sorta thing, and when I do they rarely interact with one another and usually open for rock bands or electronic rock bands from other countries.

So I really think the only thing stopping this genre becoming bigger in Ireland is organisation. When I look at what a good community did for the Dublin punk/hardcore scene I wonder why it can't happen again.

So if you are in band that combines any electronic genre with any rock genre,
    Would like to be,
Or just believe this is a decent idea

    please pm me,

    I have ideas

    I totally agree.

Love the tunes phonarr. Can't help feeling they need real drums and dirtied up a bit more.

Wow. parts of wasted summers remind me of a track i did a while back. (sounded class but the writing wasn't as good)

The real drums comment is also for the sake of live performance. someone standing at a mac or even turntable just isn't as interesting to watch as a drummer conducting the beat that everyone follows.

Also, with vocals electrorock tracks have far more chance of being picked up by advertising companies and record labels.

check out the demos of some mates of mine who I'll be working with soon:

now can you say that's not awesome?

This thread was not made to critique my music but cheers haha

We have a drummer, but real drums don't always suit each track we make so we don't record the real drums about half of the time (we have 30+ songs) but the drummer is always there live, as is the guitarist. We have gigged before

Concerning a vocalist, after a long and tiring search we have given up on finding a vocalist that we felt suited our music, our humor and our message and have gone instrumental, the tracks currently up on the bandcamp are intended to have vocals but our newer stuff is more instrumental

I have no interest personally in making a record deal/money, this is my personal mantra and I do not think poorly of any band who does, its just not for me.

However if you lads are interested in forming a community for Electronic Rock do please PM me

Why is Metal listed by itself? Surely it's the parent genre of Death, Heavy, New etc.
And where's Symphonic metal? Or are bands like Nightwish not cool enough? ;)

phonarr, i know ya said this isnt to critique your music but listening now and sounds pretty damn good. Was always interested in doing music like this. Mainly as a write, record and send to DJs kinda thing as opposed to touring it etc as i play in another band but initially as a studio project its always been something ive wanted to do. Cant beat music with energy which this genre always does.

Dude, liking your stuff. It sounds like someone commissioned Ratatat to to a soundtrack to a Sega Mega Drive game. Awesome!

I used to do music like this back a while ago using just my laptop. My band are kinda on hiatus right now (because i'm no longer in the country) but we'll be back active soon and would love to get into something like this. We already have a cover of a track by The Knife in our live set (listen here).

    Just joined on the site!

Cheers man. We always seems that when we write a new song it's completely different from anything else we've written before. I for one would be very interested in us collaborating with a few people who know their elecrtonic music and writting something along those lines
