Na goes from -1 to +10 in one hole. Just wondering is this a record on a pro tour?

Apart from that hole he was pretty solid. 5 birdies, 1 bogey, 11 pars!

Looking at the play by play on shot tracker it seems like lost the head and started hacking out of that "native area" ... Whatever that is?!

Ok googled the news. It Is the worst ever score on a par 4 but not the worst ever score. That unfortunate record belongs to John Daly with an 18 on a par 5 back in '98 apparently.

Showed it a little earlier on Sky & that's pretty much exactly what happened.
He was five off the tee & it just spiralled outta control from there.

you'd thinlk after puttig two balls out there he'd play a mid iron or something like that off the tee, just to get it in play

yes indeed - lay up with a 7 or an 8 and go from there.

I think the issue though was that when he found his second shot he didn't go back to the tee and then hit a shot so he lost the option then to go back to the tee and had to then make do with 2 clubs from that point or back in line with the pin.
He said ti was 50 50 whether he could get out or not, but 5 shots later he was still in there so I can't see how it was 50/50.
Back to the tee for the 7th was perhaps the option.

No, John Daly's had an 18 at Bay Hill. PGA TOUR record is 23, Tommy Armour in 1927.

Don't think the pga tour existed in 1927.

Na can be a bit of a hot head at the best of times. Can only imagine how he must have felt in the middle of all that.

Think that was the PGA of America. Not being picky, just remember reading a bit about it in Ben Hogan's biography a few years ago. There was no tour as such until well after WW2.

Could well be, just looked up wikipedia.

On another note, I would love to have had a camera and microphone on Siem for that back nine, Tourettes TV!
