Ebara pump not working properly after service

    Hi,
I just got the pump in the apt serviced (it had been cutting out and it needed a new capacitor). I reinstalled the pump and electrical and primed the pump but when I switch it on it runs but doesn't gain any pressure. No bar reading.

When it is running before it cuts out, there is water being sent around the system i.e. the taps and toilet etc, however the pressure is not great.

Only have cold water in kitchen so no machines or showers etc can be run at the moment so would like to know if anyone experienced similar and how they may have solved it?

    Thanks

I have no knowledge of your pump but some pumps when service will need the expansion vessel at the top pressurised. This is usually done with something like a bike pump. Its no big deal.

Can you contact the manufacturer and check by any chance.

I don't think there is a pressure vessel on this type of pump , if its the type I'm thinking of there is an electronic type box fitted onto the pump itself , ( can't think of the proper name for it) , it sounds like as if the pump itself is airlocked which is why it's not building up pressure , is it a constant pressure pump , are you sure you primed it correctly , is the motor spinning

Guys thanks for the responses. Sullzz nailed it as it was an air lock of sorts. Pump was primed properly but the pipe splits on exiting the pump and then goes vertical and across the hall down to the gas boiler and down to the bathroom.
In effect the pump was working but couldn't create enough of pressure to push the water that far.
Eventually solved it by running the pump with the taps on (as water was flowing) and it eventually syphoned the water up and over enough to make it flow and build pressure once the pump stopped.
Whew! great to have hot showers and machines running again.

    Cheers!
