Hi all, I never done this before so... is it as straight forward as it sounds? Just that it seems so open to misuse if all you need is the account number and a signature? Just a pain to have to take time off work to do this. With that in mind is it the most foolproof way to request the account be closed and a cheque sent…

Hi all,

With that in mind is it the most foolproof way to request the account be closed and a cheque sent to the account holder at the same address that the account is registered to?

The letter with your signiture can be matched off your original application, if there is a discrepency they can ask for id.
