Does anyone know of a college or school in the Douglas area that do night courses in basic Maths?

I dont, but perhaps you would be better off with a junior cert grinds instructor? one on one may be a better environment to learn.

there is also a maths section here on boards if you need advice.

    what level do you need?

you can do an online fetac level 3 maths course.

it is done at your own pace and is confidential.

you receive a certificate upon completion.

Its very basic maths, stuff that is needed in everyday use, like understanding the exchange rates and interest rates etc. Percentages for example.

The VEC would be your best point of contact or they may be details in your local library.

The VEC's Literacy service also does entry level numeracy skills - it may be too basic for your query but they may be able to help in some way.

You might try Cork Maths Centre. It's in Ballincollig. Here's a link: http://members.upc.ie/odonovan.julie/contact.html

I have nothing to do with the place, just heard about it. They give grinds and classes just in Maths.
