Decent start for Rory with a 69 despite never having seen the course before

Noren leads at 8 under with the wizz kid Matteo 2 behind. This will be an exciting one I reckon

Calm down I picked a smiley that I deemed appropriate looking. It looks a bit like the face I would make when i'm thinking "I wish I could do that" ;)

Rory shoots a 64 to be tied for the lead at -11.
Next best of the Irish is Peter Lawrie at -3.

Play suspended again due to lightning, at this rate they would be lucky to finish up the 4 rounds by Sunday.

Good shooting by Rory. If he wins this week, will he go to number 6/7?

As for finishing this weekend there is no fear, over half the players are already finished their second round, so they are suggesting that they might get another hour in today leaving only stragglers to finish up tomorrow morning.

Weekend start times are later and if needs be they can start these earlier/later, or put players in 3 balls starting off 1&10 to get finished if they want to.

It's great to see Rory swinging nicely again to put the last round at Augusta out of his mind.:)

I have to say the way he has handled himself over the last week has impressed everyone greatly...except of course the majority of goons that posted on the forum in the last 3-4 hours of the Masters.

Rory birdies his last hole of the day to go 2 clear. Only 9 holes played from the leading
group so it will be an early day again tomorrow.
Would be great to see him bounce back with a win but it wont be easy with Kaymer -6
for the day and only 3 back.

Who else will be getting up in the wee hours of the morning to watch this? Big day of golf tomorrow for me with this followed by 36 holes for myself followed by the Valero Texas Open :pac:

Matteo Manassero wins with a score of -16. McIlroy went down the last needing a birdie to force a playoff but bogeyed to drop back to third on his own. A top 3 is still a good return after last weekend.

Peter Lawrie finished on -4 for a share of thirtieth.

Haters going to hate. That was a superb 4 days for Mcilroy after last week.

Good tournament from McIlroy this week, i think it was one that he definetly could have
won. Once he sorts out his chipping around the greens he will be very hard to beat.

Don't take the bait. Dr Silly tends to live up to his name with his posts.

It's obvious that certain people here are quite sensitive.
Since when did I say I hate Rory.
If you have a look at one of my previous posts I said he's a phenomenal player, and he's got one, if not the best swing on tour.

All I stated was, that he bottled it.. again....
It's fact, and there is no denying it..

It certainly doesn't mean I hate him !

I'm aware of that. I'm referring to your endless attempts to wind everyone else up on here the last time you posted before that.

I know im probably taking the bait here but is every golfer who is in contention and does not win a bottler now.

What, about Harrington ? Please, That's like chalk and cheese in terms of golfing talent, as I'm sure Rory will prove in the years to come.

Great result for Rory and what a talent Mannessero is. If they keep playing these events then surely they are going to rack up the wins against a pretty average field(Kaymer excluded)

Don't understand why people like Harrington/TW don't just play in one of these events just to get some confidence back.

It always amazes me how people with so little knowledge of what they're talking about are the most vocal in expressing their opinions. Padraig Harrington has won 3 Majors making him the third most successful European player of the last 70 years or so behind Faldo & Seve. That is not an opinion, it's a fact.

Obviously Rory is a far better player at 21 than Padraig was at the same age but that is not a guarantee of anything. It is clear that Matteo Mannassero is a far better player at 17 than Rory was but that is not a guarantee of anything either. In the entire history of golf, only 18 players have won 5 Majors or more. Rory may well surpass Padraig and join this list of greats, I agree he has the talent. However it is a long, long way from being inevitable and I certainly wouldn't put any money on it.

Surely if the 2011 Masters proved anything, it proved how difficult it is to win even 1 Major. Is it to much to ask to give a bit of respect to someone who has managed to get the job done 3 times?

Somebody asked me over the weekend if I thought that Matteo could be as good as Rory. I don't think so, but I do believe he'll be more successful.

Matteo has an old head on young shoulders, Rory feels like the opposite. At no point on Sunday did Mannasero look like he could collapse - the lad has nerves of steel. He's also a useful putter, a part of the game that lets Rory down massively.

someone needs to explain to me how getting a third placed finish in some SE Asian tournament will sort rory out and help him forget augusta
surely it'll just reinforce the conclusion to his masters..

what are the houses like around the KLGCC course?
are they typical SE Asian style or more western (as you typically find in golf resorts)
