Can we create a new sub forum and move all the PS b*tching threads there?

Seriously this is just getting so unbelievably old, and no matter where you stand on the issue I'm sure the daily deluge of witch hunting threads obsessively stalking the Public Service, routing out articles about it and constantly, unrelentingly moaning about it are starting to bore you.

Any chance of a catchall forum where we could move all that to, or else start merging threads? I'm not of an extreme political view either way over the Public Service but God Almighty I'm sick of reading butthurt moan threads about it.

Something has to be done. Boardsie itself is becoming a ridiculous place when you know just about every thread will get hijacked with some form of PS b*tching...

Before mass broadband in this country they all had to talk to Joe, but now they've adapted.

2 repsonses in and it's already the kind of thread the OP wants to get rid of. I think that validates their point wonderfully.

Why abbreviate the words public sector. I hadn't a fúcking clue what you were whining about OP.

    Horse?

And disgrace or not, we don't need 20 threads about it every 5 minutes, nor do we need posts about it in every thread regardless of that thread's original purpose.

Because Thread Titles are ridiculously limited in size on this website. Not exactly my fault!

Could we also create a subforum where all threads bit€hing about other threads can be put..

and then another subforum about how other forums should be run..

and then possibly another subforum so that ppl can bitch about all the subforums thats are used to complain about threads...

Fine by me as long as it means we can have discussions on the main forums without a constant chorus of begrudgery and whingeing

Can the hyperbolic rants about dole-scrounging pyjama-wearing wasters be thrown in there too?

    How did I guess pal.

When your hard earned tax Eurons got to buttress these people ,perhaps you might have a different opinion.

I for one, resent my tax money being wasted, I say again, wasted, on keeping these privileged and unionised people in extremely comfortable lifestyles with generous pensions for precious little return.

Not for a moment saying they are not necessary, but as regards bang for my tax buck, not even close.

    Reality had landed, horse.

I like listening to the fighting between the sectors on the radio. Expecially when the talk show hosts wind up the public sector guys. It's like the aural equivalent of a boxing match!

    (note aural, not oral!)

I thought he had a problem with photoshop, I was shocked and amazed until I opened the thread, then I was shocked and annoyed the OP wanted to curtail my moaning. What's this country coming to?

Is there anything your tax eurons aren't being wasted on? You should just stop paying taxes and drop out of society altogether. You could get back some of your eurons then.

I hate when people add to a letter too, not need to PS, just put it in the main body of text. PTO is another one, just use another sheet of paper.

Oh and the Public Service bashing threads don't need a sub forum, plenty of trolls in the Irish Economy forum who can keep the subject going.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 810 ✭✭✭gonedrinking

Time the government stopped faffing around, they need to make some meaningful cuts to our public sector bill. The unions have made a mockery of the croke park agreement, fighting tooth and nail for all their ridiculous privilege days and bank hours and obscene pay levels.

Dude I never said I disagreed with that viewpoint. I simply said that we don't need ot hijacking every single effing thread on this website.

This is probably the perfect thread to hijack and bitch about the public sector.

    Try Ranting and raving forum.

Also this should really be in Feedback.

Well it would be relevant, the OP is inviting it upon hiself in some sort of sadomasochistic desire to be annoyed.

The thing that really pisses me off about the PS is that, although public sector and private sector both have the same initials, some twat decided that they didn't, and the rest of the country agrees with whoever the fuck came up with this piece of brilliance.

It's a private forum now. Ask dr.b for access.

Ah yes the old Public Service bashing hobby that is the staple of many an Irish persons ranting diet. All went quite for a while there and they were getting away with it. Thank God Howlin stirred up the hornets nest again or we'd have starved.

Don't go anywhere, I'm just off to get my giving out hat.

OP, posters wouldn't piss and moan about the PS if there was any evidence that they were reforming from within and implementing efficiencies and benchmarking metrics which they have continually, and deliberatley, put on the long finger.

They also wouldn't piss and moan about the PS if the heads of the Unions, weren't double jobbing as Non-Executive Directors on the boards of banks and other private sector companies, raking in even more money.

OP is not saying he minds you pissing and moaning about the Public service, hes saying it should be in a sub forum all of its on.

AH is a reflection of the nation and unfortunately a majority of Irish are moaning a lot, hence how AH is what it is.
    People love complaining...

No people don't. How could you even come up with such nonsense?. I am going to write an angry email to someone.

Well it's an incrediblY topical subject so it has to be expected to generate a significant response from people.

Moving it to R'N'R would be disingenous as it's not a case of cranks commenting on the topic.

Maybe merge threads and create a sticky here in AH?

If it goes in this thread I've no problem with it. If that's what it takes to keep it out of the rest of AH's threads then fine by me!

Seriously though mods should start merging them all. It really is becoming a pain in the ass.

EDIT: I'm not saying it shouldn't be allowed, I'm saying it needs to be contained in some way. I'm just completely sick of constantly reading about it in every single thread of every single forum on this site, Boardsie has always attracted moaners but in the past the moaning has been spread over a wide variety of topics so at least it was slightly interesting to read. I reckon Public Sector / Welfare threads make up about 80% of AH now. It's such a bore at this stage.
