Getting Phone rooted - what diff will I notice?

    Getting my phone rooted mainly so that it will be unlocked. I am not a techy is there any differences I should notice?

    It still wont be network unlocked AFAIK. I could be wrong though.

    Depends on the phone and the method used. For example u can sim unlock a desire hd at same time rooting for free.

    With the phone merely "rooted", you won't notice any difference in the normal running of it. What you can do is install and use apps that require "root" access to do what they do e.g. titanium

    Rooting also presents the possibility to flash custom roms on the phone i.e. home-made versions of the phones operating system; some offer increased functionality, some offer improved performance etc. Don't think of the term "home-made" as a bad thing, a lot of the roms have been developed by skilled dev teams e.g. cyanogen, villain

    It's all pretty interesting if you've got the time to pursue an interest
