My mother needs advice today on picking out a laptop for a small club. She has a budget of about €3500 for a laptop, printer and projector. It will probably be used for word processing, spreadsheets, emailing, displaying photos - that sort of thing. Nothing too processor intensive. My other half reckons a HDMI port would be useful for the projecting. Any thoughts?

    To summarise:
Budget: €3500 for laptop, printer, projector
Use: Basic stuff, nothing processor intensive, projecting.
Mobility: Should probably be reasonably light.
Size: 14"-15" screen, give or take.
HDMI port for projector might be good?

Any advice on printer (photo quality, up to A4) and projector (don't know anything about these) would be welcome too : )

Ive got hdmi on my laptop and i only ever use the hdmi for the connecting it to my TV for my projector i use VGA as you are not going to want to use the sound from the projector as the speakers in them are rubbish that's if it even has speakers. So i don't think hdmi on the laptop is a must its handy but VGA is just as good.

Printer id look for an epson printer as the ink is very cheap to refill on them i pay 5 euro for a full set of ink on my epson printer.

Id just go for a cheap projector if that is all the projector will be used for but try find out how much it costs to replace the bulbs if they go some bulbs are mad money Ive got a projector the bulbs are 150 euro my brother has a projector and his bulbs are only 25 euro he paid a bit more for his projector but its worth it in the long run.

Thanks, that helps. It's no problem to spend more on the projector; they're getting a grant to cover it, whereas bulbs would have to come out of their normal yearly budget forever. It's obvious which way they'll want to go!
