Some horrible creaking noises coming from what appears to be the forks area on my road bike. I have checked the front wheel and there is no movement, i have inspected the carbon forks and there appears to be no damage and i have also checked the headset to make sure its is tightened.

What else should i check before i bring it to the shop.

I had something similar on mine (which was a bike I'd put together myself). I dropped it into a bike shop who used the right tools to make sure the headset etc was in place properly, and it seems to have sorted it out for me

I had a similar problem last yr turned out i had to regrease and clean the headset and the ball bearings but that was only after i tried cleaning the stem and handlebars and using a compound paste when i put them back together.

I will give the above a go and see if it makes a difference.
