I am ceasing a land line but wish to retain the land line number, I have looked
at blueface and goldfish , but unsure which to choose. basically I wish to hold on to the land line number and to be able to receive the odd call on it .

what is the best way to go about this?

    what would you recommend?
    cheers

    Blueface monthly (minimum): €9.99pm/€99pyr
    Goldfish.ie monthly (minimum): €2.50pm+vat.

It will depend on you outgoing call usage. As you've said, if you rarely make calls then goldfish is the option.

The call costs are the about same between the two. I use Blueface as do many other users on this forum, mainly because its for business and we really need unlimited calls where its cheaper aswell.

    I hope this helps :)

Edit: I tried goldfish for a while and it was excellent service and support.

You have to transfer the number to another provider, before you close the account, or at you used to when I try it a few years back.

If you wish to port your number you must not cancel your account with your current provider but you must only cancel all DSL traces on your line. If you cancel your account you will lose your number, blueface will cancel your account with your current provider.
