    Hi

You could try the link below to find accommodation that you can book directly with the owners. We always use this site and it has properties in every country you can think of.

Sorry bigpink. Afraid to tell you that I am the resort type :D

Los Cristianos or one of the other smaller resorts maybe? At this stage though the flights to those types of places are going to be on the up price. Try entering your preferred dates into RyanAir or Aer Lingus sites and going through their destinations to see what cheapish flight are still left and then you can match this by checking the accommodation on the site I gave you earlier.

Medano, Tenerife. Lovely Spanish town a million miles away from the knacker hell-holes. Beach in the town. Great good value restaurants. Lots of activities - mountain-biking, watersports. Look into it - fly with ryanair or aer lingus to Tenerife South. Fantastic place.

Flights may not be that cheap at that time of year.

Other rec with cheap flights would be Escala Spain. Cheap flight to Girona and rent a car - 40 minute drive. Costa Brava.

Yes, would have to agree with Glasso on that. El Medano is a really nice place. All the fun of South Tenerife without the anti-social aspects that you sometimes get in places like Las Americas. Can be a little breezy there even in July/August because of its location on the coast but great nevertheless. Should cost you about €20 for a taxi from the airport to El Medano and you are still close enough to take day trips or to visit for a night to Los Cristianos. Brilliant public transport system with buses running regularly. Accommodation very reasonable too. RyanAir are still running cheap enough flights from Knock, Shannon and Dublin to Tenerife South airport as well.
