I have an iPhone 4 arriving tomorrow. if I plug it in to my pc will it sync automatically with itunes. Will all the apps I have on my Iphone 3 transfer or will I have to get them all again?

    Thanks

When you plug it in it will go through a setup process, you get a choice to setup as a new phone or to restore from your backup. Select the most recent backup and it should restore your new phone with all your current phones settings / apps/ contacts etc.

    More info.

    Just to mention:

When I got my iPhone 4 I restored from a backup but the battery was terrible and the phone was generally slow.

I restored as a new phone and it was 100% better. I've heard the same from a good few other people as well.

If you have to do this make sure you synch your contacts etc with outlook or google.
