I wonder will there be an entrance fee and if so, who gets the money!

Yeah will the takings from the 80,000 crowd go towards fixing the US economy or our own :pac:

After watching that travesty of a speech the other day in which Obama magically expects to decrease our deficit by spending more, increasing taxes and ObamaCare, I was wondering... Would ya’ll mind very much just keeping him there?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 86,729 ✭✭✭✭Overheal

depends on his oppossition to a vast extent. So far trumps campaign is all about the birther conspiracy; and this is a billionaire who should know how to make money, youd think he'd be talking about the budget?

I'd be all over this if I could get a ticket, would pay any money to see something utterly extraordinary; a wise, intelligent and reasonable man who became President of the United States (He's the first since Carter)

Too bad you'll have to settle on Obama then.

There's no reason why increasing taxes on people who can afford it, and implementing a healthcare plan that is expected to save billions could not contribute towards reducing a deficit.

If he will be giving a speech at Croke Park I'll hopefully be there.

Your politics is a religion, a bull**** religion. Reaganomics does not fking work no matter how hysterically you and Fox news try to claim it does.

How many jobs did Bushes tax cuts for the rich create?

Raising taxes does not make rich people poor.

And actually, poor people create a lot of jobs indirectly. They're more likely to spend any money they have, thus meaning that any tax breaks given to them will most likely go straight bank into the economy instead of just sitting in bank accounts.

You completely missed the point. The rich create jobs, not the poor. So the rich create all the jobs. And if you tax the rich more, they will find ways to keep their income levels constant... which means they will keep what little is left rather than creating jobs. President O’bama obviously believes income tax is the fine you pay for thriving to fast. Now if only he would tell his tax cheating cabinet, czars and department heads... “When making out your tax return, it's better to give than to deceive.”

You know, it's hard to believe America was founded to avoid high taxation.

And who creates those jobs that provide the income that the "poor" get to spend?

Thats the point, if he ends up a one termer then so be it. Carter left with his principles intact and his hands held high, and then went on to carve an elder statesman role for himself in the global community, a true gent and an enlightened politician. Obama is cut from the same cloth, its a pity he has to govern a degenerate nation like the UNited States, one that is in steep decline because it refuses to get over its flawed sense of exceptionalism. Alas.

I don't even know what a 'jump off' is. Can you enlighten me please?

Seriously though, is there anyone in your party who combines the same qualities (Intelligence, wisdom, good intentions) They might have or even 2 of those three qualities, but I've yet to come across even one Republican who I haven't wanted to kick in the face...

Not exactly... sort of when you meet somebody and you hit it off famously... but then you realize that all you really want from them... is to hit it off famously. And thus begins the journey into jumpoffism.

Ron Paul maybe? He seems to be a decent guy and appears to be gaining popularity all the time, I think if he runs for the 2012 election then he has a fair chance of winning it.

Not a chance. The republicans demand knee jerk reacting mouth breathers as presidential nominees and Fox news will destroy him before that happens.

You may be right, I found this vid quite interesting, considering the crowd is fairly liberal, he may be talking too much sense :)

His thoughts on foreign policy is popular among the more liberal Americans, then he goes and spoils it all by saying something stupid like "we need to abolish the department of education, the EPA and we need to roll back to the gold standard"

Ron Paul is our version of the Democrat’s Dennis Kucinich. Lovable kooks.

Yeah but isn't the US en route to hyper inflation if they keep up this quantative easing, throwing money at the problem isn't fixing it, just increasing their debt and temporarily keeping the wolves from the door. If their economy implodes completely will they take the rest of us with them? (worse than we are now I mean)

Anyone got any uptodate info on Obama visit? I really want to see him and I'm holding off my holiday plans but I'd like to know asap. I checked out a few sites yesterday but found nothing.

AFAIK the latest is that he is only going to be in the country for less than 24hrs so doubt the Croke Park event is going to happen tbh. Too much drinking Guinness in Moneygall to be done instead ;)
