    Hi im selling something at the moment and a prospective buyer said they would pay me through a bank lodgment. Is this a secure method of payment? I dont have paypal. They could send a postal order but this item is a gift for someone so they need it by saturday

    Yes. Once the money hits your bank, that's pretty much it. Obviously, you would want to see the money in your account before parting with your goods.

    Its safe yes, but you're disclosing your account number and sort code. I wouldn't give the details out because with Direct Debit + you no longer need to sign a mandate.
